Superb quality and value ebike

My GS9 arrived early and with undocumented upgrades. It had a through-axle on the front foot instead of a quick-release, a full Shimano drivetrain with excellent trigger shifters, and real Shimano hydraulic brakes... when I've watched multiple videos of people showing off the fairly decent zoom or unbranded brakes that I guess were on them before. Since I'm an experienced cyclist and competent bike mechanic, I was able to do the truing of wheels and stuff that most folks wouldn't know how to do but assembled and tuned up this thing is an absolute fun explosion. It's the only thing I know in its price range that feels like a real e-mountain bike, at least on roads, bike paths, and modestly rough trails. Would not be jumping this thing at the bike park but definitely will be putting in a lot of time in the dirt and gravel trails around my area. I'd give it six stars if I could. Great job, Paselec! (Forgive my color coordinated touch points I'm in southern Florida, and no those are not real rock shox (yet) that's an inside joke)

Will change 27.5 x 3.0 tires for Non folding later. Fast, smooth and 50 miles range with pedal assist and motor only climb.Happy with product. Genuine 750 watt motor with 18 ah battery. Buy one!

Nice Bike, be Prepared

I ordered this bike in Feb. The stated delivery was 5 to7 days, but mine came in 2 days. I had major surgery so this was going to be my help to get back in shape. To begin, the whole package was very easy to unpack and set up for final assembly. Final assembly took less than 30mins. Very simple, but I also have a Lemond Zurich I made into a cross bike, and a Felt composite road bike, and I wrench on them myself. But really, assembly was simple. The front wheel was way out of true, so had to use a friend's truing stand to get it round and straight. Rear is also a little out but I didn't do that one.I liked the bike from the start. The seat is bad, way to big and wide. I replaced it. Riding it the first time takes a little learning, but the power is very good.I put on SPD peddles so it is easier to spin. So after tinkering with the setup I got it on the road.I have now been riding the G9 and have about 130mi on it. It is a nice ride, and really helping me.Now, there has been one big issue. At about 35mi the motor started to make a scraping sound about every half revolution. After several texts back and forth, service decided something had come loose internally. So Paselec said we will send a new wheel/motor assembly. They also told me to take it to a bike shop and they would pay me back. But I live in the mountains over sn hour to a bike shop. So Paselec service responds quickly to solve problems..The new assembly arrived and I will install next week. But again to wheel needs truing.Overall, very nice bike for a very reasonable price. So the battery runs very low at about 30-35 mi but every ride here is at least 2000ft of climbing. So in gentler terrain I think 50mi is reasonable.Great bike for the buck if you are patient and can do a few fixes yourself.

Extremely happy with purchase

When I was first interested in this ebike I couldn’t find much about it. I took a chance and ordered it because of the battery capacity and 500 watt motor. It was shipped the very first day and took only five days to arrive via FedEx. The weight is 53.2 lbs w/ battery and height is 43 inches from the floor to the handlebars. The design, color and welds are beautiful and it rides pretty quiet as well. I’m extremely happy with my purchase.

Beautiful electric bike

Arrived on time and was easy to assemble. The frame had a small chip and the seller refunded me $20 so I could repair it. I was a little sad as this is a brand new bike but the bike looks good and despite the small chip I am very pleased with it.I will be using this bike for a 300 mile cycle completed in 4 days along the Potomac River, Washington DC so the front and rear suspension will be much appreciated.

Great bike..but maintain those flex points on the center shock..lube grease works.

Ok..amazing bike for the price. I bought mine a little over a year ago and put 5500 miles on it..commuting 26 miles a day, running at the MAX Assist.Only issue I had out of the box was the rear tire kept getting a flat..took it to REI..they fixed it, it goes flat, repeat. The manufacturer sent me an entirely new rear wheel assembly (with the hub) no charge. The bike crusies at about 25mph (pedal assist level 5)but I have gotten to 37mph on downhill.Hydraulic brakes are awesome and easily bled and refilled (Saline)Shimano derailed and shifters work smoothly and suspension is good. Very comfortable ride with that mid shock and of course front shocks are variable and can be locked for road use.I ran this bike in heavy rain, commuted in the cold and heat..it kept going. Finally need to replace the battery as I killed it but again..with the Customer Service from the manufacturer and the bikenitself being kick azz..juts keep those flex joints lured, dry off and remove any dirt and much (do not hose down an ebike) with shams..and you can't go wrong..I'm ready to buy my second

Awesome commuter bike

This bike is exactly what I was hoping for, it's got a ton of power and it's super comfy to ride. I live in a really hilly area and I use the pedal assist mode to get around. It handles all the hills on my regular route like a champ and tackles uphill sections with no problem at all! I couldn't be happier with it

Mixed customer service experience

OVER a WEEK ago I wrote two emails to the support and service portal. I have not heard back from Paselec for either email. This is not YOUR CLAIMED great support.I asked about pedal assist as the bike seems to want to speed away -- even on PAS1 it wants to go about 10 mph. Is this normal? Is this the cadence sensor? Can it be adjusted? Simple question but no reply from Paselec! In another email I asked if the handlebars could be adjusted and raised (and implied that if so I needed instructions). Simple question but no reply from Paselec. Now I have a third question: On my instrument when I change to "current" is says 0. I can toggle through total miles, trip miles, voltage, but nothing shows for current. Is this normal? And a fourth: I just bought a spare battery that I received fairly quickly. How do I treat it? Do I keep it charged as a standby unit? Do I rotate it with my original battery?I was pleased that you replaced my bike seat when it was not packed in thr original delivery box. Not so pleased that I can't get even an acknowledgement that you received my support questions!

Well built bike, not to heavy, a great buy

Power switch is in a poor position(can't see if it's on or off since its on the bottom of the down tube) but that's a minor inconvenience, once you know how it's aligned. Not too heavy, only a little bit heaver than my 29er when you remove the battery. Changed the handle bars for a wider set, an adjustable stem, and RockBros pedals. Seat is ok, but that will go when I find a better one. For a low end e MTB it is well built. Not sure about off roading with it, I'm setting it up for commuting. Will change the derailleur and shifter at a later date. I highly recommend for first ebike (my 2nd) that is more like a conventional bike. for the money would have given 5 stars, but I'll need to ride it awhile before I go that far. Took it on a 20 mile ride today no real problems other than the failure of the front brake, which locked up part way (glad it didn't lock completely) The brakes are cheap, which is no surprise at this price. I've ordered after market replacements and I'm not bothering the company about this. Overall This is still a great buy for the money, well made, but you have to save money somewhere or charge more. Still happy, If you don't know your way around a bike, have it set up by a bike shop. If you do, you know what needs tightened and what needs up graded. Update, I love the bike, lots of power, changed the brakes and the seat, the shifter and the derailleur work fine (so no change). Great buy for the price, very happy

Pretty good for a first time electric bike.

I was a bit worried about getting an electric bike, I had tried electric bikes and scooters many years ago and they were usually very underpowered. This one though has no problem with picking up speed. Even on very steep hills it may slow down but it can keep going. A few small complaints I have are with the instructions, the display, and some of the parts quality when it arrived. First, the instructions consistent of a long line of text or a quick 60 second or so video online. You also need to know the model of the bike to find the right video, as I couldn't find the link on the store page. The instructions skip over the proper way to install the handlebars, as they were detached when it arrived. This is important as it's very easy to put it on wrong and possibly damage the electrical and brake wires around it. Also the instructions didn't mention anything about the front wheel brake and troubleshooting it. I'm not used to the brake being at the wheel hub instead of on the rim of the wheel. It was a bit too tight and I had to loosen the brake pad so the wheel could spin freely. Unfortunately, and this is my complaint for the parts quality, someone at the factory had stripped the hex head screw when installing the brake caliper. Fortunately I could loosen the other side and it worked, but if I ever need to repair the brakes I'll probably have to replace the entire caliper on the front now. Finally the display is a little... inconsistent when going up any kind of slope. The battery gauge will quickly go down when the motor is consistently used going up a hill. This can be a bit shocking at first, and then confusing when it jumps back up to full when going down hill. So I can't rely on the gauge to really give me an accurate battery rating, I just have to guess at how full or empty it is while riding.Other than those issues the bike rides well and pretty smooth. Seat isn't too bad, brakes are a little weak to slow you down but you could probably fix that, just don't come up to a stop too fast on it. The Assisted pedaling is also a little confusing. Essentially from what I could figure out the five levels indicate a minimum speed the bike will try to maintain, whether you are pedaling or not. This was a little bit of a surprise when I was trying to stop on PAS 1 but the bike suddenly started accelerating on its own. Higher numbers on the Assist level seem to mean the bike maintains a higher speed, with level 3 seeming to be about 15-17 mph.I got this to replace needing a car for transportation, and it definitely works.

easy assembly. everything works as advertised.

everything works as advertised. have only ridden it on streets. real test will be the trail rides. so far i am happy with the sturdy feel of all the components. bike moves along nicely in all pedal assist modes. even worked like a regular non-electric bike with power off.
